Description: Building science determines how a home’s systems interact to affect its overall performance. Improving comfort, efficiency, durability, and environmental quality are particular concerns with more time spent at home and with rising energy costs. If you advise home owners or home buyers, this course will enable you to identify and educate your clients about potential building performance problems and solutions.You will learn the relationship between the building enclosure, heating, AC, insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting, appliances and other systems affecting the comfort, health and safety of occupants, and the durability of the home. You will discover why improving the energy efficiency of the home should be the first step toward solar, geothermal, or other renewable energy improvements.
Class Length: Starts at 7:30am- 4:30pm
1 hour lunch break. Several restaurants are nearby for lunch or bring your own.
